Walk a lot
Lots of walking on hard soled shoes is a leading cause of chronic tension and stress on your feet, knees and back.
Stability and soft shock absorption are crucial elements in order to reduce the amount of tension on the body when walking - and the greater the walk - the more important this is.
For distances covered above average (about 5000 steps), we tend to recommend you use our soft bounce sole, to ensure minimized strain and stress on knees, back and body throughout your day.
No, chained to my chair
Yes a lot
Standing up-right over time can feel very tiring, and is likely provoke tension in the body. Soft and stable soles will reduce strain and you’ll feel more at ease over a longer period of time.
If time spent on your feet is above average, we’ll tend to recommend you the soft bounce sole.
No, I'm really chill
Yes, time is money
More or less cushioning depends on how you walk, it interacts with your stride and pace.
As a parallel to running shoes, when running fast (or sprinting) firmer shoes feel better, whereas softer soles feel superior for longer distance recovery runs (or marathons).
If you’re the fast-paced-kind-of-guy we tend to recommend the energy rebound outsole. Let's get moving...Time is money!
Shoes with lots of cushioning are usually more comfortable for people with higher arches, and shoes with less cushioning tend to be more comfortable for people with flat arches.
High arches absorb less of the shock with each step than low arches, thereby we tend to recommend soft bounce for people with high arches & energy rebound for people with flat arches.
My knees say the softer the better
Listen to your doc or physician! However, in general, look for shoes that are both stable & flexible.
A good walking shoe should flex easily. A shoe that’s hard to bend will restrict your foot, change your stride, and increase tension.
The best forms of injury prevention are to make sure your body is balanced in strength, mobility and flexibility, you are training smart and getting good sleep and nutrition. The second best form of injury prevention, is wearing a shoe that will make you smile with every step - thereby making you want to move even more!
